Luckily, I found a business partner that I trust early on, but now we're trying to hire more, and I don't trust anyone I haven't known for a
long time.

How did you do your background checks? I have a candidate, but he said something one night that made me worry that he might rob my clients.

What can I do about that? Confront him about it? Interview/check references?

There's a time and a place for both, is my opinion. Computer stations are much more Velcro domain, while A/V or Networking equipment, you WANT cable ties as a preliminary security feature :D

Yep. GRC (Gibson Research Corporation) has a GREAT DNS Benchmarking tool for Windows machines.

I commonly use Google's DNS servers (8.8.8.8) or OpenDNS.

I meant that very tongue in cheek. I feel strongly about cable ties, they have their place but should be used very sparingly, especially at the user's desk where cable changes are frequent. But give me cable ties and mounting squares when I need to attach a modem or router to a wall, and I'm all set.

That cellreception.com site seems like a nice resource.

I used to be very happy with AT&T. Their customer service used to be wonderful. Of course, this was before the merge with Cingular and subsequent un-renaming back to AT&T.

Ted, there is no question that the iPhone has the app market down pat. I love it too. What I don't love is that I have a $400 brick sitting on my desk that Apple does not care about. I cannot recommend it as a primary phone for business. But I sure miss entering my time on my freshbooks app!

I'm a fan of the iPhone as it gives me a TON of features and the App Store can't be beat. I'll grant you the "lack of physical keyboard" argument, but I'm in a position where I'm not typing a whole lot of emails on my phone.

Your point about getting a case is a strong one. I dropped my iPhone last week and the screen shattered. While the device still works, the spiderweb of cracks on the screen makes it impossible to use.
